ABOUT:

 

John A. Rice is a New York City-based actor, writer, and filmmaker. He studied Theater and Creative Writing at Fordham College at Lincoln Center, where his focus was scriptwriting and dramatic analysis.

 

John's acting work ranges from stage to screen, and includes notable projects like THE MERRY WIDOW directed by Susan Stroman at the Metropolitan Opera, and DIE FLEDERMAUS! written by Douglas Carter Beane. Most recently, John appeared in the Paramount/Netflix show MANIAC, directed by Cary Fukunaga (True Detective) and featuring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. He also portrayed the iconic character Bill the Butcher on the TV series BLOOD FEUDS, and he stars in the award-winning dark drama feature WHEN I'M WITH YOU, which made its debut at Cinequest and is now available on Amazon Prime.

 

John is also an award-winning screenwriter who specializes in character-driven horror and thriller content. His production company, Man of the Crowd Productions, is dedicated to promoting diversity in entertainment. He first acted as Script Editor for WHEN I'M WITH YOU (World Premiere, Cinequest; Winner "Best Feature Film", Sacramento Film & Music Festival), and his personal writing credits include the Blood List’s award-winning horror/thriller feature THE DARK ROOM, and the short suspense thriller HIDDEN DAYLIGHT (West Coast Premiere, Dances With Films; Winner "Best Horror Film", Phoenix Comicon; "Best Short Film", Freak Show Horror Film Festival), which is now available to watch on DirecTV, Amazon Prime, and YouTube. His short film version of THE DARK ROOM is currently playing film festivals around the world (Premiere, Catalina Film Festival).
